i have lost 6 pounds since i started logging my food and exercise 7 days ago! (yes i know some of this is water but still!)

i am sooo excited b/c i have always worked out like a mad woman (I teach 4 spinning classes per week; ride 100km (65 mile) bike riding events, run half marathons and do sprint triathlons) but truly had not seen the scale go down in years...well pretty much 4 years ( i did lose about 50 pounds after i gave birth to my twins but got stuck after that).

watching the scale go down at all is like a miracle. today when i ran my 5 mile run i felt so much lighter...the whole run actually felt easy...which has NOT been the way things have been going for me in the last year.

i am soooo motiviated. i actually started keeping a written food/exercise/water log on paper last monday...with the goal of eating 6 veggies and 4 fruits per day along with low fat protein plus 8 cups of water per day and almost no bread/pasta/rice and almost no wine/beer/chocolate. on the 3rd day pf paper and pencil writing i accepted my cousin's invite to start doing myfitnesspal.com and started keeping the log on line.

i love it! i love that you can download the app onto your iphone so you can keep track anywhere. you can save your favorite foods and meals to your favorites list so you dont retype stuff over and over. ditto for exercise. AND ITS FREE! no annoying pop ups or anything. what could be better?

i am sooo jazzed.

Now if i could just get my two gal-pals to accept my invite. it really IS more motivating when your friends do it too.

    Welcome!

This site is a great resource not only for losing a little extra weight but for maintaining it afterwards. I think tracking is a good habit to find regardless of your fitness levels, because exercising hard can lead to over eating pretty easy.
