Oatmeal. Bananas, grapes, apples. Oatmeal takes a few minutes in the microwave and scarf down, and an apple + banana or pre-made assortment of other fruits takes a second to grab and can be eaten on the way or as snacks later on.

I'm a big fan of grabing either a Special K Protein bar or a Quaker Chewy Granola Bar on my way out the door if I don't have time for a regular breakfast that I make the night before and saran wrap it; then microwave in Am

So is it all yogurt or just yogurt alone? Because really high-quality smoothies are easy to make and grab in a re-usable container. Here is my favourite blend:

1/2 cup plain fat free organic yogurt
    1/2 tsp acidophilus powder (optional)
1 tbsp ground flax seeds (flax meal)
1/4 to 1/3 cup frozen unsweetened blueberries
1 scoop Kaizen brand vanilla ice cream protein powder (very smooth creamy taste!!)
    1/2 ripe banana
    1 tbsp almond butter
    1/3 cup skim milk

blend and enjoy this magnificent, filling, nutritionally-dense purple goodness!! It's in the database as Blueberry Vanilla Smoothie. :drinker:

...you could also make a smoothie without yogurt something like this (although this is off the top of my head so try before making a big batch  )

    1/2 cup pure pumpkin
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or 1 cup skim milk)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (nice with pumpkin)
    1 tbsp ground flax seeds
    1/4 tsp cinnamon
    pumpkin pie spice to taste

This would also hold its weight nutritionally as the pumpkin would offer you some great nutrients and carbohydrates to power you up until your morning snack. I'll have to try this... thanks for making me think outside the yogurt-smoothie box
  • yeah im not a yogurt person

i ended up buying me an organic chocolate chip chewy granola bar and an apple (& grapes) cheese Snack Tray for breakfast
  • In the latest Weight Watcher magazine I read a great idea. Spray the inside of a mug with cooking spray and scramble (stir) an egg in it, add some chopped veggies and cook in the microwave. I can't remember the minutes, I can check it when I get home and get back to you. I just thought it was a great at work breakfast idea.
  • Carb solution protein shakes with frozen fresh fruit pulp. I buy the frozen pulp which comes pre-packaged, put one in the blender with 2 scoops of vanilla powder and it makes a very tasty creamy shake I enjoy on my way to work/dropping the kid of to school in the morning.

I found the article it says spray a mug w/ cooking spray, stir in egg and 1 Tbs of fat free milk, some chopped veggies and cook in microwave for 30 seconds. I'm gonna try it now for a snack.

This is exactly what I do for my kids, the night before I make these, put them on whole wheat english muffins, I wrap them in saran wrap and they zap em in the microwave in the am while getting dressed, instant nutrious breakfast to go!
  • Thats not a bad idea  and i love eggs. anything to use other than veggies?
  • I'm sure you could anything that you would want in your eggs, like low fat shredded cheese, turkey bacon, cut up ham, etc.

Made these this AM for breakfast.... 2 minutes 30 seconds to finish...low cal (about 300) and low fat! Very filling too!

1 whole wheat english muffin (toasted or at least warmed in microwave for 10 seconds)
1/4 cup egg beaters or egg whites
    2 slices lowfat turkey bacon
    1 slice lowfat american cheese

Nuke the bacon between 2 paper towels for 1 min 30 seconds on high or until crispy.
Spray a small microwave safe bowl with pam and nuke your egg in 30 second intervals until set in the center. Assemble your egg, cheese, bacon on your english muffin and viola.

You can also use a lowfat turkey sausage if you prefer. If you time it right, the egg and the muffin will melt the cheese perfectly.

Who needs mcdonalds when this is cheap, easy and tastier!!
  • If you don't even have time to prepare something, I just had the Weight Watchers Morning Express English Muffin Breakfast Sandwich (just egg & cheese) - 210 Cal for breakfast this morning. It was pretty tasty.

I love PB&J sandwiches. I use light bread, 1 tbsp of peanut butter and 1 tbsp of SF jam. It's totally portable and fills you up too.
  • I think i'll try the egg thing and the PB&J thing. both sound appetizing
