Alright i need some input here. How do you feel about Body Cleansers and Body Detoxing. I know alot of you are against using them, but prefer the natural way of detoxing by eating raw veggies and fruits and that's terrific and eveything. But i am just trying to get a consensus here.
If you are for them, what products are good? And if you are against them, why?
All input are greatly appreciated.

P.S. I have heard great things about Isagenix.

I am against them. Because they are generally toxic and/or a waste of money piggy backing the diet industries obsene get rich off of our misery schemes.
If you want to cleanse, do it naturally with fiber, not chemicals.0 -

Basically if you hear the phrase "detox" its a con. Look after your liver and kidneys by eating healthily and drinking lots of water and thats it job done, thats what they are for. There are no toxins unless you have a serious medical issue that you would be more than aware of.0 -
Against!0

If you can't be convinced otherwise and MUST detox, use this...

But, notice the insanely high price tag? You don't need to spend that much. Just eat healthy, drink lots of water, and let your digestive organs do what they were intended to do!0 -
As someone who has tried these cleanses a couple of times, I find that they work... you will lose weight (basically because it clears out your bowels) but once the cleanse period is done, the weight comes back.0

Against. Your body does it on its own and doesnt need help
Isagenix is a scam0 -
If your going to cleanse your body I would do it with natural raw fruits and vegetables, still eating your calories just in a more natural way for a few days. Taking something in drink or pill form to clean yourself out just doesnt make sense to me if it's not natural.0

I just had someone on here try to not-so-stealthily sell me Isagenix. I have a friend who sells it and uses it, too. She lost some weight initially (60 lbs.) but now it's two-years later and she's still about 60 lbs. overweight. She relies on these products instead of learning sustainable healthy habits.
It's all about making money.
Humans weren't obese 500 years ago and there was no such thing as Isagenix.
It's about healthy behaviors, not cramming your body full of highly-marketed concoctions.
While I think these are a HUGE waste of money, whatever helps get you going is worth it. Just my thoughts.0 -

i.e. they don't work... ? If the weight comes straight back on, what earthly purpose do they serve?
Your internal organs don't *need* to be cleansed - they are self-cleaning. Eat fruit, eat vegetables, drink water.
Most of the loss with these products is water weight. It's not a 'real' loss, and it really won't help you at all in the long term.0 -
When I cleanse it's with raw veggies and fruit and it's just for a day or two on a weekend. I've done a weeklong juice fast but it was part of a yoga and meditation retreat in Costa Rica. And I was eating about 80% raw for 2 months before that. I felt and looked amazing after. It was sort of a reset button for me physically and emotionally. But I don't go for any powders and pills. And I don't use it as a weightloss plan. For me, it's a way to get in tune with my body and mind.0

Are you all saying it ISN'T true that we have up to 30 pounds of fecal matter like spackle in our intestines?
The guy on the radio lied????
OP -- There is no need to "detox." Eat healthy, drink water.0 -

I think that a NATURAL detox is a great way to go. I found an all organic one at the grocery store, it was comprised of herbal supplements in combination with eating particular foods for two weeks (mostly veggies, fruits and chicken). Its great for your body, but really the packages are unnecessary when you can just take fiber, drink lots of water and eat strictly on your own!0

I did a simple 3 day whey protein shake detox. Day 1 you get 5 one scoop shakes and a salad with lean protein for dinner. Days 2 and 3 you get 3-4 one scoop shakes (depending on excersice) and eat a serving a fruits or veggies every 2-3 hours and salad with lean protein for dinner. It was simple, I lost 5lbs using no pills, etc just fruits, veggies, and whey protein and it stayed off. Also drink 8-10 cups of water throughout the day0

Apart from healthy eating & drinking water, exercise is also another way of detoxifying our body as one of its benefits is to get rid of toxins on our body.0
