Interesting article from the NY Times, well worth the few minutes it takes to read...

I know I am a perv because I read the whole article, and the sentence that stood out to me was "...Tossing a salad must become popular again"

    lol....

Nice read though, but its only about fast food. There are TONS of homecooked meals that are just as terrible. Corned beef Hash, and sausage, anyone?

Yes, but any sausage or corned beef hash that you make at home is far better than the same foods gotten at a fast food restaurant or out of a processed-food can/bag/package.

Typically thats true enough, I'm just saying, there is more to it than just not eating fast food. Its about healthy eating across the board.

If I make $10 per hour, and it takes me an hour to shop, prep, cook and clean up from a meal, the cost of my meal is the cost of ingredients, plus the power consumed to cook & clean, plus my hour. Therefore, if I can purchase a fastfood meal for $5, and spend my hour working to make $10 instead, it is therefore in my best financial interest to do so. But I don’t, because I hate fast food.

The article addressed that point, it said people, regardless of salary, watch an average of 1.5 hours of TV a day, every day.

Therefore, you have time to cook without costing you money by lost wages ;)
