Try some yoga to stretch out your hips. A lot of times it helps me.

I just do stretches and pop some ibuprofen when I'm sore. If it's really, really bad maybe a doctor needs to be seen?

Tylenol, stretching, and rest :( No quick fix, and those are the only things that work for me... I do a lot of hard core work on my legs - spin class, core classes, elliptical machine, and my hips hurt quite often. I also do yoga, which helps a LOT. It is great for stretching and flexibility. If you have an opportunity to try a class, I would. Or just google yoga poses that stretch hips, and you should find some great options to try at home.
  • I take Liquid Carnitine every day. Carnitine helps reduce muscle tearing and improves recovery time. I have noticed a difference in how sore I have been after my training. Might be worth a shot. I get mine at Whole Foods but you can go to any health and fitness store, GNC or even order online. It's about $20 for a bottle.

Try a heating pad on that hip. Heat does wonders for aching joints and muscles!!

    Ice may also help.

You may need to take it a bit slower. One thing I found out early on is that if your bones are NOT used to vigorous exercise, when you start your bones need to build up too, just like your muscles. You could be taxing your joints more than they are ready for.

This is true with almost any regimen. When I started jogging, the pain in my feet and ankles was way worse than being out of breath. When I began kickboxing my wrists, elbows and hands had a deep ache different to what my muscles experience.

Starting slow and building your frame up for the work will keep you in the game longer.

    Take care!
