What equipment do you have to make your (ipod/iphone/music) device water resistant while you run in the rain? Can ear buds hold up also to rain? I've been doing the Couch to five K with my iphone and the rain just returned to the pac nw and I didn't previously give thought to what I'm going to do now!

Any advice?

I stash a sandwich size ziploc bag in my key pocket or through my shoe laces in case it starts raining.

My armband is plastic so it protects my ipod pretty well. I have never had a problem with my earbuds, I think they get just as wet from my sweat as they would from the rain.

I invested in a fanny pack meant for running...I stow my phone, iPod, and keys in there when I run. I wasn't sure if it was waterproof until I ran a 5k race in the rain a few weeks ago and none of my stuff got wet :) If I had known it was going to rain I probably would have put my electronics in ziplocs just in case.

Living in Manitoba, I can be subjected to some brutal extremes (think -40 in winter, 100 degrees fahrenheit in the summer ). Fortunately, I have never had an issue with headphones (short of getting them snagged on something). During the warmer seasons (above freezing) I wear a rubberized arm band that protects it from rain, sweat etc.

Ipods tend to not work so well when the temperature drops below freezing so the arm band doesn't work in subzero. When it's cold, I stuff it in a ziplock bag and put it in an inside pocket. The ziplock bag keeps it dry, and the inside pocket keeps it closer to my core where it won't freeze.
