Goodmorning MFP... How much bread do you eat per day and what kind of bread do you eat? I recently cut out Sara Lee's multigrain 45 cals per slice bread and have Ezekiel 4:9 Whole Sprouted Grain bread everyday. There's times where I have up to 3 slices.. not sure if this is a good thing or not even if I am staying at my calorie goal.

Hardly any. For me, bread is my weakness so I usually don't have any in the house. The only time I buy any bread now is if I go on a low calorie sandwich kick for lunch, and I buy the Wonder Smart White.

I will have either a Thomas Whole Wheat Baget Thin or a whole wheat tortilla a couple of times a weak. My "bread" consumption is way down from what it used to be.
  • I have the Peppridge Farm Whole Grain, Double Fiber Wheat bread. I have it every few days. I normally have it toasted with PB. 2 slices.
  • I eat as much bread as I want! I don't see it as a big deal if it factors into my goals. I try and have wholemeal but it tastes like cardboard so sometimes treat myself to white or even home bake it :) I wouldn't worry!

Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Grain breads. Low GI, and only 15 carbs per slice. Also, I buy it frozen, so not very convenient to grab and eat. I have it with breakfast 1-2 times a week.

I rarely eat regular bread because it tends to be calorie dense and carb heavy unless you go for specific brands. I stick to whole wheat tortilla wraps or pita bread and even then, it's only once or twice a week.

none............carbs are the devil, especially processed ones
  • Sara Lee No High Fructose Wheat 150=2 slices
    or
Orowheat Rounds=100 2 Small slices (great for sandwiches)

My bread intake depends on my calories for the day. Today ill have 3 slices. 2 for lunch and 1 with a snack. (Most days is 4 = breakfast and lunch)

Ill cut this down once I get to a point where its hard to lose weight. I think its all a per person, what works for you type thing!

Some days a couple of slices of Sara Lee Classic Honey Wheat Bread or a Pepperidge Farm Deli Flat. It doesn't bump up my carbs much and it's a quick way to eat back your cals after exercising if you add a bit of peanut butter.
  • I don't eat bread wheat or white. The only carbs I eat area Oatmeal as breakfast. Doing this I have notice that my I've gotten cut up and it's visible.

2 slices of a whole grain, light bread a day for me.

I think the processed white breads are not a good choice for bread.

I generally eat a slice a day - Orowheat Healthful or double fiber bread. I NEVER eat white bread. If I eat a sandwich then it's three slices a day. It's within the confines of my calorie goal. I used to think breads, potatoes, etc were evil, but you have to eat in moderation and know what kind of bread to eat so it's beneficial to your body.

I eat about two slices a day, depending. But I'm a big fan of the Food for Life - Organic 7 Sprouted Grains Bread. Chewy but tasty.
  • I have 1 slice of rye bread every morning, which is 83 calories...

I am another person that has given up all grains. I no longer eat bread, crackers, oatmeal - anything that is made from grains.

My only exception is Basmati Rice about once a month.

If I have bread it's homemade gluten free bread. Every few months I'll splurge and buy GF bagels, but I very rarely eat bread.

Probably like 2-4 slices per week. I'm not a bread person. Nor pasta and rice either.

Anywhere from 1 to 4 slices of high quality whole grain bread. Usually comes to about 90-110 calories per slice.

I rarely do, despite the fact that it's probably my favourite food. If I do eat it, I usually bake it from scratch so I know exactly what I'm putting in there.

I would say 0-4 slices/day of wholewheat or multi-grain breads. (usually homemade or made in store)

I don't eat bread daily even once a week at most. I try to get 100% whole grain or multigrain when I can afford to do so but I don't use much bread. The loaf is usually stale or left going bad. But ideally we'd have no wheat gluten. I'm trying to limit it and eventually will be doing a trial month without any. We get the grain products enough through spaghetti, noodles and other stuff we may have going on. I do oatmeal a lot in the morning or I did for a long time and just getting back to eating oats. Going to change it up to steel cut oats that I'll cook overnight in crock pot though.

Some things I already switch to gluten free. We only use corn tortillas for taco nights now and I like to mix up the spaghetti night by using quinoa noodles or sometimes rice or brown rice noodles. For family health issues with digestive stuff and because my daughter bloats out like a balloon after eating wheat products I'm really interested in seeing what gluten free diet would do for us. I want to get a bread machine again so I can make gluten free bread on occasions to buy it is quite costly but then again so can making it..

I am currently experimenting with no bread, so far I have lost 3.5 pounds and am still eating all of my calories, just making them up with vegetables , fruit , and protein. To me, bread is a weight loss killer, but I guess everyone is different. I will let you know after a month of this if it continues to work
