**Warning this is a fat boy rant, anything said in this topic may be borderline and incoherent**

Belly fat sucks... Did my weigh in and I stayed the same which is okay as I was marking weight loss as the week went on last week. (That doesn't seem like proper English oh well) so I mainly did measurements that I need to upload to MFP. Anyways the point of this rant... Darned if all the measurements but my belly shrunk for the 4th week in a row. Darn you evil belly fat from hell. You started to get looser and slushy but you won't shrink! I sometimes think my belly has a mind of it's own. I've lost an average of 4-6 inches from every part of my body but my belly. Arms are down 5.25 inches, legs down 6, calves down 4.5, neck is down 5.5, chest is down 4.75, belly is down .75..... I look fatter now then before!!! ARGH!!!!!!!! There are days you just want to go crazy. I HATE YOU BELLY FAT.. YOU ARE LIKE MY CRAZY EX. YOU JUST CAN'T TAKE THE HINT WHEN YOU ARE NO LONGER WANTED! Makes me just want to go insane. How can I lose over 50 pounds and ONLY LOSE .75 in the belly... HMPHH!!!ARGH.. $%^*#$# #$#%###%$# #$#$#%#!!!!! That is how I feel right now. I am madder than a one-legged waitress at IHOP, madder than a pyromaniac in a fire department!!!!

Whew.. feels much better.. just had to get that out there for a few moments. *breathe in, breathe out* I'm at work so I can't really just scream at this present time.

I was cursing the same way at my thighs a few months ago! I easily dropped a few inches from my waist and even my hips but my thighs refused to shrink at all! I've finally lost one inch, and only one inch, from my thighs in the past month after dropping nearly 15 pounds over 6 months.

Keep at it. Your belly is obviously your "fat repository". As you lose more weight, it'll eventually start to shrink if only because there's no place else left to lose it from.
  • lol, having the same problem.

I've dropped 27 lbs, my waist is much smaller, but I still have that damned belly fat. All I can think is to keep up the cardio and keep working it. I should start measuring my belly to see if it's coming down at all!

this post made me LOL :) I sound like this most of the time, belly fat is usually the last problem area to go... stubborn b****** that it is!

well done on the loss so far though! just stick at it, you're doing great :)

    love a good rant!!!

I don't eat much wheat. Maybe 1 - 2 servings a day. During the week I drink the protein shakes and one meal, and weekends I drink one shake then 2 meals but I'm not a huge wheat fan.

If you are eating too many carbs,You might want to watch your carb intake....not so much healthy carbs, but the white bread, etc. carbs. Sugar and white food seem to lend itself to adding to belly fat. Mine finally shrunk when I cut the sugar and white carbs...Good luck.

I really don't think it's carbs, I have left to go carb wise of 240+ some days 350+ left to go to meet my daily recommend value of carbs. I usually only eat around 80-90 instead of the 399+ it says to eat on my diary.

Yesterday I had 239 carbs left, then 267, 277, 262, 347, 258... carbs is the one thing I don't get close to on my diet.
  • Whatever you do, DON'T EVER GIVE UP!

Oh I have no desire to give up, just needed to rant a bit and for some reason I didn't think yelling at my stomach would do anything or make me appear to be sane in front of my colleagues.

    Ahhhhh, the Bs of fitness.

FIRST B to go -- BOOBS
LAST B to go --- BELLY

    hahaha.

I'm the same way, whenever I lose, it starts at the top and the bottom and works its way into the middle.

The more you lose, eventually it goes away... it take a while, though.

If you sit down a lot, eat excess sugars, don't use your ab muscels, it takes longer.

I have the exact same problem. Everything (and I mean everything - boobs, hips, thighs, butt, everything) has shrunk except my belly. I'm glad someone else feels my pain because I thought I was crazy. It's good to hear that this order of fat-loosing is normal!

I'm conviced that my belly is never going to be the same
I've lost 75 pounds, and I'm getting great definition in my arms, legs, shoulder and chest
    BUT
My belly looks like all the skin just hangs there
I'm giving up thinking I'll have six pack abs
What I got is 2 packs in a bag!

Awesome rant! Your really said what needed to be said. Stress and not enough sleep can also cause belly fat to hold on. Yep, I am an expert. I have started losing there though. For me it was ten years of potato chip and Diet Coke addiction. Soda will cause you to bloat. Love the pop culture reference to Sesame Street. (the letters M F and P and the #1.) Excellent!
  • Tell me about it...always the last to go
  • Let's talk about how you have lost almost 60 lbs in three months since starting here. That's amazing! Keep your chin up!! :-)

...... and then when the belly fat FINALLY goes away and you've shrunk 10 inches around your mid section.... you're left with a saggy, wrinkly, stretch marked poochey. & that's where I'm at. You have lots to look forward to. /Rant.

((Which is totally not helpful. But honesty rarely is, now is it?)

It's more helpful then me talking to my belly in the car as I was heading to the gym begging it to go find it's own place and move out. He gave me the silent treatment, I think he is scheming against me. Is there squatter laws on the human body, I need the f.b.I. (fat belly investigators) to come and put this belly fat under witness protection, hopefully in the bellies of my enemies.

As for skin folds and hanging skin yeah its most likely coming and I can accept that. I actually have a bit saved to help go towards a tummy tuck, vain yes, mentally needed....probably. I do know my dr said that once you get to goal weight to go at least another 6 months and maybe even a year before even thinking about going under the knife, and if god willing I don't need a tummy tuck then that money can go elsewhere.
