Hi, I just started using MFP about 3 weeks ago. I used it for 2 days and got a nasty cold. I ended up living on chicken soup for several days and didn't post anything. I'm finally doing better and ready to get back to it! I found it on my Android phone, and I love that I can come to the website, too.
I'm 41 years old and need to lose about 50-75 pounds. I've tried in the past, but never had much success. I had no support from my husband, and my parents and sister were several hours away from me. A year ago, I found out my husband was abusing our daughter, so I filed for divorce. Before the divorce could be finalized, he committed suicide. So it's been a rough year! But my kids and I moved to the town my parents and sister live in, so we have lots of support. I've been posting on the Women in Red forums, which has given me lots of support as I dug out of the financial hole he left me with. I decided I needed something similar for weight loss, too! I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel financially, so I decided it's time to really get back on track on my weight. The fact that climbing a single set of stairs leaves me winded had me concerned, too. So, here I am! I'm looking forward to "meeting" everyone!
