I posted an offhand, semi-serious tip about evening eating on my news feed the other day - and I've found out it's BRILLIANT!!!

So I wanted to share:

I have finally been successful at curbing my evening, mindless eating. I've tried a million other things: distraction, exercising, brushing my teeth, saving a snack for that witching hour - and none have worked. Until this week.

TEETH WHITENING STRIPS!

Seriously! I have a brand where I wear upper and lower strips for 30 minutes, for 14 days. After that I can use the 5 minute touch ups for up to 21 days. The gel that is used for the whitening is thick and kinda off-putting in flavor, but once I take the strips off and brush my teeth - I'm REALLY DONE. Food doesn't even sound appealing! As I mentioned previously, just brushing my teeth hasn't worked in the past... but this gel-whitening stuff really seems to keep me from eating.

Now, honestly, this is only 3 days of success... but that's MUCH more than I've experienced before. With an added benefit of a dazzling smile, what's to lose (except weight!)??

I don't want to rain on your parade but ... the tooth whitening strips can cause your teeth to become sensitive. I did not know this. I used them and now I have sensitive teeth, have to use sensodyne toothpaste and can't even drink ice water (yowwww)
Ask your dentist if they're safe

Those teeth whitening strips remove the enamel from your teeth (which over time will eat away the whole tooth or give you cavities). They will cause sensitivity because they are destroying your teeth, probably best to use them with great discretion

After quite a bit of research, and actually a referral from the dentist, I feel quite comfortable using them. Much of the enamel-stripping effects were from previous recipes and this has been corrected (well, at least according to my dentist and what I was able to find for medical research). The other thing to keep in mind is to use according the label, for the duration and frequency suggested.
