Question about how to log exercise

Hey everyone
I work at a horse barn and two days a week I clean the stalls and feed the horses. For a good 3 hours, I don't stop moving. Pushing heavy wheelbarrows, lifting bales of hay, carrying full water buckets, not to mention walking through a LOT of deep mud (just like walking in sand! :P )
I want to log this as exercise... but I'm not sure how to go about doing so. Any ideas?
Thanks!

you can log it as lifting and carrying heavy boxes. It is listed in the exercisees0

Okay thank you!
I'll go check that out!

what is your activity level set at? if you have it as sedentary or lightly active, I would enter cleaning the stalls as "cleaning, vigorous effort" If you have it set to very active, i wouldnt count the cleaning because mfp already gave you extra calories for your activity level.0

I have it set to sedentary. Thanks for the advice0 -
I used to do that too, GREAT exercise! I think you could wear a HRM and log it that way too. Best of luck!0

I believe that there actually is a horse grooming cardo choice I know a friend of mine has a horse and she uses that one among the other substitutes for the other work she does0

I might have to try that!
I'd also love to use a step counter for when I do barn work - I feel like I'm walking around for 3 hours straight!! I'd be curious to know just how many steps I take!
Hm.. is there a way to log your number of steps for exercise?
And to mmoonstars - THANK YOU! I feel like I spend hours grooming my horse! I will DEFINITELY be using that one in the future!0 -
There's one for horse grooming which I think is your best bet. It burns more than cleaning vigorously and less than moving boxes. You could also get yourself a handy dandy heart rate monitor!0
