FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS I HAVE ORDERED WRAPS . MY CO- WORKER WAS TELLING ME WRAPS ARE VERY HIGH IN FAT. IT IS VERY QUICK AND EASY TO MAKE OR ORDER. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME ON BETTER CHOICES OR ARE WRAPS HEALTHY?:blushing: MY WRAP IS MADE WITH TURKEY,CHEESE,LETTUCE, AND TOMATOS. I DO NOT NOT SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT, OH YEAH AND A BAG OF CHEESE DOODLES:laugh:

well the cheese doodles sound like the problem to me lol. So you're makiong lettuce wraps? Well those are low in fat and calories. If you aren't making lettuce wraps, check the kind of tortilla being used. Most are made with a low of butter so see if you have the choice of a whole grain wrap or one made with veggies.0

A grilled Chicken wrap, with all they put on it, at Sonic drive thru is like 350ish calories. I think they have ranch or something. I make them at home, with whole wheat tortillas, no cheese and no ranch.0

If the wrap is a tortilla shell check the nutrition data. You might be better off changing to a whole grain bread with double fiber.
And what is a cheese doodle? If it's like a cheeto you might want to skip it and have some fruit or carrots...0 -
I eat a wrap every day for either lunch or dinner, I buy Dempsters original tortillas, cause I hate all grain and whole wheat, lettuce, cucumber, green peppers, cherry tomatoes, green onions, and no- fat low cal dressing, you could add lean turkey and even 1 oz of shredded cheese and still be under 350 calories, it's very healthy, unless you're having high fat meats and a ton of cheese, you're making good meal choices, the most i've ever seen a tortilla weigh in at was 200 calories, but it was one huge tortilla!! even then if you fill it with almost all veg..which is not high in calories you're still good.0

Some wraps (the bread, if not lettuce) can have more carbs and calories in it than regular bread. So you just have to check that out.
Subway, back when they had wraps marketed them like "healthy" but it came to be that the wraps had like 100 more calories than the wheat and white bread!0 -
Not sure if you are making your own or buying, but...
Skip the cheese, mayo, dressings, ect. OR go lite.
Change your totilla type. I just made the switch to La Tortilla Factory, whole wheat and it only has 80 (?)calories. Much lower then the Mission brand I was eating at 180!0 -
I PURCHASE MY WRAPS FROM A DELI . IM ASSUMING MY CALORIE INTAKE IS ABOUT 500-600 CAL WITH THE WRAP I ORDER. I DRINK (4)BOTTLES OF 16.9 OZ OF WATER . SO I GUESS ITS OK FOR ME TO KEEP EATING MY WRAPS0

when i make wraps at home, grilled chicken, lettuce,tomato,a smidge (less than an 8th of a teaspoon) of shaved parmesan cheese and a teaspoon of italian dressing the ingrediant that packs the biggest calorie count is my plain mission brand burrito sized tortilla coming in at a whopping 220 calories! 2 slices of wheat bread in the brand I buy is only 160 cals!
Just something to chew on.
Oh and cheese doodles are on the banned from my diet list lol!0 -

the comercial wraps at most places are made with Lard. which gives you a higher fat count up to 400-500 for just the wrap itself never mind the filling. find out what they use and check out the nutrition ifo for yourself:happy:0

This has been my experience as well. If you are making wraps at home there are a number of really good ones that are low fat and low calorie available but the ones that are used in restaurants are often really high in calories. I beleive subway uses a low calorie wrap but I can't vouch for anyone else.
I've also found that you can use low calorie/ whole grain breads and still have the same or less calories as you would using a wrap. I still like wraps for the variety but if you prefer bread, it's just as good a choice.0 -
