***My mother "made" me hammer pants, and "jams"
***Two days in 8th grade, I wore my pants backwards. Kris Kross WILL make you jump, jump.
***Bodysuits-nobody over 16 months should wear a onsie
***Gotta say I LOVED the grunge thing. I often wore my fathers old pants from his teen years to school

THis is why now, I stay away from trends lol

What are yours? Pics are a bonus!

  • You and I are identical! I did each and every one of these, only my hammer pants were not home made. My very favorite outfit was a bodysuit, with an ankle length lace slip/skirt, a pair of shiny black combat boots and a flannel shirt to top it off. Oh I was lovely.

Well in my weight loss journey, before I ever had success, I cant tell you how many times I would do a "colon cleanse" followed by the Atkins diet :P

Alternating slouch socks over the tight rolled pants. (Oh goodness, what was I thinking?!) Side ponytail (accompanied by the ever popular scrunchie, of course) or the banana clip and big hurricane bangs. I definitely had one of those airbrushed t-shirts that you get at the boardwalk or on vacation that said something about my "achy-breaky heart" too. Terrible. Thank God I out grew all of these!
  • The lemon maple syrup juice diet. Spent £30 on the special syrup and lasted a day before feeling like I was going to pass out lol!

The flannel really enhanced the bodysuits.

the blonde thing. I used some of that sun lightener hair bleach stuff when I was 11, the results of which where that terrible orange colour hair that brunettes get when they make mistakes with bleach FOR TWO YEARS before I bought my first box of black hair dye at 13. People still thought I was naturally ginger for many years in high school...not that there's anything wrong with gingers haha.

I nearly cried when I read yours... amazing, i'd totally forgotten about all those things!!
Mine were definately the Goth phase - red hair, undercut but my best friend and dads over coat - bear in mind my dad was 6ft, i looked a fool!....... dungarees - i look back now and cry, i looked like andy pandy and tie dying - my mum indulged me on this and i remember spending hours dying t-shirts to some sort of olive green colour and then trying to bleach them and putting holes in them all!
am with you on the bodysuit thing - they were awful, i've got friends getting well into the revival... im steering well clear :)
  • Oh and the cereal diet. The baked beans diet. The 'eat a teaspoon of balsamic vinegar with every meal to lose weight' theory. Hahaha it makes me feel kinda silly now that I am doing this the right way!

Bodysuits... I thought they made me look sexy!
Grunge... I wore my dad's shirts to school. (I thought I was Kurt Cobain)
    Wearing shoes without laces
The infamous 90's fringe (the higher the better)
Smiley's (back when there was no internet) and neon lycra
Wearing sweat shirts and levi's 501, which made me look like a tree trunk

I have never bought into fads... unless you consider binge drinking a fad, but I think of it more as a long term commitment.

But I did have lots of Skidz pants back in the day.... and if they became popular again I would wear them... like pajamas in public.

fitted-waist blouses with shoulder pads; feathered "roach clips" as hair accessories; parachute pants (black silk, of course), multiple ear piercings with "danglies" in each one.

These things may be why I stick with blue jeans and t-shirts now! There's a fad that will NEVER go out of style!

Black lace fingerless gloves. Madonna would have been proud. Sad thing is I was 18. Should've known better.
Toe socks. Most uncomfortable things I ever wore.
Wearing overalls with the bib and straps part hanging down.
Izod shirt with the collar up.

I was 15 when the Cabbage Patch craze was in full swing. I worked in the front end snack bar of a Bradlees store (like Walmart or Target). The store had run an ad before Christmas that we were getting a shipment of the dolls for a Sunday morning opening. I got to see the craziness first hand as the doors opened. People were screaming at each other and trampling over each other to get to the toy department. Madness.

My first thought was the spice girls look. BIG platform sneakers and piggy tails (I was 13...yeah). Then bell bottoms paired with any shirt that would show my mid drift. There was that one phase with the plaid mini skirts paired with knee high boots ....yeah...I looked like a street walker.

Oh yes, that too. The worst thing is that I was basically copying the style of one of my classmates. She was super pretty and skinny. I was average pretty and not-so-skinny... I avoided here the whole time when we were wearing the plaid skirt/boots outfits the same day!

Wait... pirate puffy sleeved silk shirts were a fad? I have one on now... that could explain the looks.

Ah yes, I remember the floaty silk shirt phase...

Layering it with my mothers t-shirt with cut out shoulders was a particularly fine choice.

Bangles? Like a crap load of bracelets but the plastic ones up and down each arm.......

    Side pony - yep.

Pegged legged pants with neon socks tucked over - sometimes 2 pairs on each foot.....

    Banana clips and scrunchies.

Bodysuits (ugh!) my husband still has a thing for these, I'm pretty sure he had a gf or two in jrhigh/highschool that rocked them.

    Flannel anything......oversize

Army navy jackets that were way too big.....

ahhhhh. the 80's and 90's rocked.

oh yes, and the smiley, before the internet.........

White canvas Top siders (boat shoes that stunk to high heaven )
    Painters pants
    Various hats
    And suspenders!

All in HS and I'm sure those were mini fads.

I was into grunge for a long while, wore nothing but plaid flannel shirts and men's cords. I even went digging in a bunch of clothes my father wanted to donate and found a primo plaid flannel shirt he used to wear in the 70s. Once he saw me wearing it, he said, "hey, that's my shirt." And he wanted it back. Such a baby...

    Perms
    Toe socks

    Worst of all:
Hi cut leg exercise leotard with shiny tights, leg warmers and hi-top reeboks. May have been a headband on too!

    So I just dated myself~
