Goooood Morning Challenge Buddies!

Sorry I missed posting on the boards for the last few days - was home on Long Island for family bdays and such, and only had my smartphone app - was able to journal, but was having a hard time posting on that tiny tiny keyboard!

How did the weekend go for everyone?! I managed to log everything for the family bday (my family has huge food fests for celebrations like this, which gets tricky to 1) journal accurately and 2) not cheat. Luckily, I left before the cake, so I didn't have to deal with my number one temptation - sweets.

Also took my first vinyasa (flow) yoga class in about 8 months....girls, I am hurting. And, it was an hour and a half sweat fest, so I don't think the exercise counter is correct here (215 calories? my fanny....) I looked up a calorie counter online for vinyasa, and it said I probably burned closer to 600 calories, based on my weight...but s'all good.

Been doing the 30 day shred as well, though I skipped Sunday because of the yoga class.

here's the bummer. Have been very good on the journaling AND on the exercise AND on staying on track, and am back up to my original weight. I know (hope?) it's muscle mass from the exercise, but there is nothing more discouraging when you're being so good than gaining weight instead of losing. I need to check again this morning, but am pretty sure this will remain the case. ARG! It's so FRUSTRATING!

I have to remember that the changes in my body right now are GOOD ones, and that I'm doing this for my overall health, not a number on the scale....how do YOU stay motivated when you don't see progress?

Ok fitness buddies, onto to another day. Hope it's a happy and healthy one for you!!

Lara, sounds like you're doing great work, congrats!
Muscle mass sounds most likely to be causing the increase in weight. I have a question though, did you take measurements (neck, bust, waist, thighs etc.) before you started? You should compare yourself to those because, for people who are not trying to lose a major amount of weight, it's much more accurate and encouraging.
I took my measurements a week and a half ago, and I can't wait to compare them soon, but not too soon. It'll be rewarding and encouraging!
I'm still going ok, my limit of 1,200 calories isn't going the best though. I burn between 100 and 220 cals a day usually (walking, circuit training) and tend to eat most of those, and end up doing exercise just so I can eat more! Does anyone else do this?! Or am I crazy?!
Anyway, I've gone over a few days, but I've tried not to. I eat all my exercise calories and always eat more than 1,200 calories (usually around 1,400 after exercise). Hopefully it'll pay off! Down to 139lbs now, so I'm happy enough with that, only 14lbs (1 stone) to go :)
Best of luck all, how you guys getting on?
