Out-Running your Dog

Is it an nsv if you out-run your dog and you have to stop running because he refuses to go any further? I have never had this happen until yesterday. Poor puppy!

Definitely.
But, and I'm sure you know this, do be carefully running with your pup. They're great companions, but generally, as long as you're going, they'll carry on - their pack instinct is so strong, they will keep up just to keep up, even if they're not really coping. Our dog sitter took our GSD out with her on her bike, and ran him till he had a massive heart attack and died. She said he hadn't given any indication he was tiring.... :-(0 -

Yup, you would think that dogs have more stamina (because they have more legs, haha!) but they seem to get tired more easily. My dog injured his back leg after a particularly hard run, so I try to limit the pace to a steady jog when I'm with him.0

That is really sad! If you saw my pup, he has crazy energy and this usually doesn't happen. He runs circles around the pups at the dog park and usually never quits. But I would never ride a bike with my dog anyway.
We did take one of our jack russells up snowdon with us. When you get close to the summit, there are big deep steps, about the height of my knee - i.e. taller than my dog in entirety! He was such a brave boy, made it to the top and back, had a fantastic day.... And then slept for three days afterwards!!! :-D0 -
