When to Weigh???

Hey!

When I first started MFP I weighed myself in the evening and a friend told me that my weight wasn't accurate at the end of the day because my body wasn't done digesting. She says I should weigh myself in the morning. Well since I put my start weight in as my weight that evening, I've been continuing to weigh in the evening for consistency. This morning, I just hopped on the scale out of curiosity and the weight was significantly less...like 6 lbs lighter! Of course I'm happier with the morning number, but now I'm confused about how much I actually weigh. I weighed myself again after exercising and eating breakfast and the scale had gone back up! Has anyone else experienced similar issues? What's a girl to do???

I have always been told to weigh myself in the morning, same time, place, and naked. I do an official weigh in on Friday mornings but weigh myself everyday to make sure i keep myself on track.

I like to weigh in the morning before eating or drinking much and after.... um.... relieving myself of some weight in the bathroom. LOL The number you see on the scale shows 'you' plus whatever you just put in or whatever hasn't come out yet, ykwim? I like to try and get as much 'me' and as little 'everything else' as possible. LMAO

gotta agree with everyone else. your weight when you step on the scale is always changing and depends on alot of variables- how much have you eating, how hydrated are you, whens the last time you went to the bathroom (kinda gross--but youd be suprised) so i weigh myself like missy said in the morning, same scale, wearing the same thing everytime, before i eat or drink.

Consistent answers all around!!! The morning number it is!!! Thanks everyone for your help :-)
  • Same here! In the morning, before I eat or drink. An interesting thing, my husband said that an accurate weight should be on a scale that stays in the same place, never moves. Hmm?!?! Either way, I've never thought weighing yourself at night is an accurate weight.
