I have been have some health issues for the past few months. I went to the Dr. this morning for some test results and he wants to send me for more tests. However he thinks I have IBS, but wants to rule out other possible issues.

I have been doing some reading and I am going to have to change my diet drastically, which may not be a bad thing. But there is so much conflicting info, don't eat this, then the next site says that should be fine.

Anyway I am wondering if anyone has any advice on what type of 'diet' I should be looking at. I am just looking forward to feeling better.

Thanks in advance

I never even knew I had IBS at all and it was only mentioning in passing a 'toilet habit' that I had been having for the last year that a Doctor colleague of mine said - that's IBS.

Best thing I can do is eat clean, not too high fibre (although 'some' is needed) and avoid highly citrus fruit. My diet was atrocious at one point and very, very processed and that really was messing me up. I learned to cook and that helped greatly. I can now get away with the odd naughty thing and things are much calmer, but initially to get things under control 'eating clean' really helps.

I would suggest taking a probiotic, avoid processed foods and possible remove gluten from your diet. Best wishes and hope you feel better soon!
