I,ve been exercising quite a bit recently and the problem i,m having is being able to sit down lol!
I know it may not seem a problem but it seems the more i exercise the more i end up having more energy and i cant sit down or sleep at night with out waking at 4 am in the morning! :0/
Anyway have this problem or know why?

I have barely gotten back into exercising and I still have this problem. I know that I can't exercise at night or I will be up all night, but yesterday I ran in the morning and I still had trouble shutting down to sleep at 11pm. Crazy.

I have this problem too. Night exercise fits my schedule best but I have to be up early and can't be wired all night :/

I do a lot of running now, and have entered my first marathon, which is in a fortnight. The training mileage has been pretty full on (I did virtually no exercise before March of this year) and yes, I have found I wake up v. early in the morning, absolutely buzzing. I would say my whole body clock has shifted, although sometimes I even find it hard to get to sleep at night despite getting up so early.

The only time I feel I could lay down and sleep like a baby is when I'm at work! Seriously, it sometimes totally overcomes me in the afternoon and I have to go for a walk just to stay awake. But mornings and nightimes, I'm wide awake.

As to why, I guess it's the exercise endorphins, but would like to hear if any scientists out there can explain in a bit more detail.
  • Totally have this problem. Too much exertion at night fires me up. I have to counter with 'rituals' to remind my body it's bed time (warm bath, relaxing music, pre-bed yoga poses, etc). As for waking up early...well looks like it's time to learn a new language! : )

Keeping one's body clock set properly is important. I think that I exercised for so long first thing in the morning that if I do it at night my body 'thinks' it's time to wake up. Occasional melatonin at bed time helps keep the clock set, along with the above mentioned actions.
