I am going to be 35 in Oct and am a mother of 4 beautiful boys! I am 5ft even. I have never had a problem with weight until this last year! I have undergone many surgical procedures for breast cancer and durring the long horrable process I have gained about 30 lbs.I am finally recovered and finally have my strength back to do something about it! I joined MFP about 2 weeks ago and it is great. Just from watching what I eat and walking I have lost about 2lbs. I know that is not alot, but for me not knowing what the heck I am doing that is. I am finally feeling energized and motivated to do this. I am so glad to be able to have found a plan that I have fun doing. Hope to meet alot of great friends and motivators thru here. I am ready to ROCK & ROLL!

He Jennifer! Welcome to MFP. CONGRATULATIONS on your recovery, AND for losing those first 2 lbs. It's good to hear that you are motivated, energized, and have the desire to lose those unwanted pounds that came during your illness. I pray that you find the support and accountability that you need to succeed. :-)

Congrats on the first 2 lbs! Glad to hear that you have fought breast cancer and BEAT it! You rock! If you did that..... getting 30 lbs off should be a piece of cake! You can do it. I also have 4 children. 2 girls and 2 boys! Feel free to add me. We can do this together!

wtg. you should be proud of yourself already because you kicked cancer's butt, got up, dusted off and lost yourself two pounds. you're clearly awesome. the rest should be a breeze compared to what you've already been through.
  • Wow didn't expect to get any responses! Thank ya'll for your support! Luckly for me with the DR's Caught the masses that I had before they could become anything. The unfortunate part of all of that was my blood work. Dr's had me do a genetics test which told them that breast cancer is very strong in my genes. I was told that I had a 95-98% chance of it outbreaking at any time. So because of my family history and the fact that EVERY woman in my family had battled this horrable curse, and the fact that not all of them made it thru my team of DR's felt the best thing to do was a full bilateral mastectomy! So I did! Got thru the surgery and full reconstruction (that I am very pleased with:happy: ) has dropped my chances down to about 5% from 95-98%. I am thru and I feal great and I am ready to go on with my life! So thank you!
  • Wow! That is so much to go thru being so young! Good for you to have made it thru that whole diagnosis, surgery and recovery and still have energy left to lose weight! I would love to be friends and help each other on our weight loss journey.
