Help! I know everything to do, drink water, wait 10 min. etc.
but
See that number at the bottom? Yeah that used to say 29 lbs lost. I can't figure out what my problem is! I wake up in the morning and say, Ok, Today will be a good day, and then I go to the cabinet and grab a cookie without even realizing it until it's nothing but crumbs left.

Get the offending snack foods out of your house!
If my kids want a special snack like that I can buy them a small package or make 1/4 batch of cookies so there won't be any left!0 -
If I were you I'd give the junk food away, or find some way to get rid of them and don't buy them again. I always noticed that if I don't buy that kind of food period, I won't eat them and there'd be nothing around me to mindlessly snack on.0

I've done that recently as well!0 -
I have no will power when it comes to snacks that I love like chips and ice cream so I try not to buy them. Also, do you log in the cookie calories? I started it doing that to make myself more accountable to myself.0

I agree, get rid of the kids cookies and the unhealthy stuff. But also keep on hand some nutritious and healthy snacks you can have so that when you find yourself "mindlessly" snacking at least its on some healthy foods.
Really focus on your committment and stay strong. focus on your goals. Give yourself "free days" or some call them "spike days" or "cheat days". Whatever you call them it gives you some time not having to constatnly watch what you eat. But that's only one day a week, the others you really have to work hard and get your mind in proper thinking. Good luck. I know it's a struggle, we all experience it.0 -
Yes, there is definitely something about logging those cookies that made me quickly pass them up the next time.
Excellent point.0 -
From your original post op it seems that you dont really want that cookie, it appears to be just a habit, hence the "mindless snacking" part.
Try to train yourself to have new habits. Im a firm believer in the "Everything in moderation", but accept that some people can't stop at 1 cookie. The logical thing is to know what you have trouble with, and simply don't bring them into the house, until you can control your cravings.0 -
Seriously! I know what you mean. Mine use to say 20 lbs lost0
