Water proof HRM??

I have recently added swimming to my exercise routine and want to count my calories burned. I already have a HRM that I love, but it is only water resistant and should not be submerged. I have found that my HRM is way off from MFP on most things and want a more accurate reading. I have had more weight loss since I started using a HRM and would like to continue that pattern while adding the swimming. Can anyone suggest an inexpensive HRM that is better for swimming?

I have a polar FT4. I have not tried it in the water. I don't have the manual in front of me but I think I saw that it is able to be used for swimming up to like 30 feet or something like that as long as you dont push the buttons under water as they may cause a water leak into it. I have also heard that they don't pickup the heart rate as well under water so it may not be an accurate reading.0

If your HRM has a chest strap it should be more accurate than MFP. I have a Polar FT4 and I can submerge it is waterproof as long as you are not pushing buttons while it is in the water. I have bathed with it, showered with it, swam with it. Have never had any problems.0

I have the New Balance N4 and it does have a chest strap. The manual says that it is 50 m water resistant. Do you think that means that I shoudl be ok to swim with it?0
