Hey all, I know this has been done before, but I thought I'd put a new spin on it!

What do you do for a living?
How long you been doing it?

Me... I work quality control for a gravel pit. Been in the biz 26 yrs, but in the office, this is my second season out in the field.

Likes: Playing in the dirt! (And getting paid for it!) I also find it kinda humbling to think that some of the rocks that I have to sift thru may have NEVER been touched by human hands & possibly walked on by a dinasaur! (we find some really cool stuff!)

Dislikes: Slimey mud. And running a material called 6a & 17a. I hate, hate, hate them! They are the enemy! I am trying to conquer them, but it's an on-going battle! (Much like my weight!)

Your turn! :flowerforyou:

Im a stay-at-home mom for eleven years. My kiddos are 14, 13 and 11 - and 35.

I like taking care of my family whole-heartedly with no distractions. I like cooking and baking from scratch, and I LOVE that I taught all three of my children to read, among other things.

I dislike the temptation to sit and do nothing other than eat all day. I resist most of the time, but sometimes it gets the best of me.
  • What do you do for a living? I'm the Admin. Assistant for the director of Psychology at a state hospital

How long you been doing it? 8 months

Likes: Steady salary, state benefits, holidays, weekends, etc.. Love my boss, and (most of) the department. Love that this job lets me indulge my OCD tendency's (and encourages them because efficiency makes my boss look good to his boss! ) Like that my boss uses me on a lot of projects that most secretaries wouldn't be pulled in on because of my previous experience managing a local business- it keeps me busy and let's me be involved in a lot of aspects of the hospital administration. LOVE that the coffee pot is next to my desk. :drinker:

Dislikes: Umm... can't think of many. A handful of people at work bug me, but with 1500 employees it was inevitable that I wouldn't like *everyone* Probably the biggest "dislike" would be the sheer number of people. I work hard to try and overcome my anxiety- but for the most part I am just faking my way through day-to-day interactions and I feel pretty worn out at the end of most days.

I am a vet nurse. I have been employed for a little over 8 months, but have been doing work experience and volunteering for two and a half years before that.

I LOVE working with animals in general. I love the little, quiet moments and the ones where you know you've made their probably-stressful stay much easier, much more comfortable or much more enjoyable. I like being responsible for surgery. I like helping people (usually!) and making their also-probably-stressful time a bit less so.

I don't like dealing with abuse patients. I don't like having to deal with people that won't do right by their animals or by us. I don't like most of the cleaning. I don't like a lot of terriers. I don't like dealing with angry creatures. I don't like being an accomplice to unnecessary euthanasia.

Very cool! When I worked in the office, dealing with truck drivers all day, someone asked me what I liked & disliked the most from my job, and I replied to both, "working with the public"! LOL Some days... Oye! lol
