I'm thinking about changing my fitness goals here on MFP. If I change them to 1.5 pounds/week (currently 1 lbs/week), my calorie count that was 2170 will go to about 1810. I'm almost positive that I will be able to do that with no problem, but is it too soon? I started my journey almost a month ago. The last time I weighed myself (Christmas Eve) I had lost a total of 8 pounds.

No advice, or recommendation, just proud of you using the tools available and having the mindset to commit.
Just here to cheer you on! Go for it, and let us know if it works out for you! Cheers!0 -
I say go for it, you won't know unless you try. I just started and that's the goal I went with. I think it's doable, although everyone is different. But if you've been successful where you're at for a month, I would think you'd be able to handle it. I'm here cheering you on!!0

It's great to change up your goals like that...it keeps your body guessing. I constantly (about every week to two weeks) go anywhere from a goal of 1.5 pounds to .5 pounds a week. I haven't hit a plateau - at least when I'm being honest about my calories :blushing:0

I'm pretty new here and am interested to see what others think about your question.0

I say go for it. Even a 2 pound loss per week is a nice, slow, steady loss.
I actually just changed mine from 1 pound per week to 2 pounds per week. I plan on changing it every so often because my body is already on the brink of plateauing.
Good luck!0
