How to address baked goods craving...

So, I have a history of getting into shape, gaining more energy, and feeling great...then, my old craving starts to return... my craving for baked goods! in fact, I should change my id to Mr. Baked Goods :laugh:
I don't know what it is exactly, but maybe my body is telling me it wants more carbs? In any case, I simply love freshly baked goods.
Any thoughts on diet alternatives would be most helpful, as I want to continue my progress :happy:

I'm not sure if this helps but the other day my mom was making blueberry muffins and they smelled soooooo good! but they are so dense its a waste of calories... especially since you can't eat just one!! So I tried to go for a healthier option and satisfy my craving by cooking some oatmeal and adding some mixed berries to it - YUM! MUCH more food for the calories.... and I was full! :bigsmile: so I'd try to make it a light or healthy option for your indulgence!0

Diet soda cake
Use pumpkin or applesauce instead of oils
Egg beaters
You can tweak recipes to be much less dangerous!

I believe in moderation and portion control. Denying only leads to binging on it later.
I love angel food cake from scratch. For me boxed cake mixes taste chemical. Slice it and freeze individually. A nice desert with fruit.
Cookies, make the dough, scoop out onto wax paper lined cookie sheets and freeze. When frozen place into freezer bags. Feel like cookies for dessert. Take out 2 or 3 and bake. Hot fresh cookies without having to have a full batch.0 -
I'm with you. I love bread and find it really hard to resist. I honestly consider it a trigger food. Once I start I have a hard time stopping. I'm trying to work around it by only allowing multi-grain or whole grain breads and I avoid breads made with white flour. Baked goods like cakes and cookies I'm only allowed to have in controlled circumstances where I can't get seconds and don't have easy access to more. For the most part, I just avoid them, knowing they'll trigger a binge. That's what happened over the holidays. I decided to treat myself to a few cookies and by the time the holidays were over, I was binging on cookies and bread in alarming amounts.

Ok so I am a carb food junky and I crave any of it all the time. I read an article in the First mag and it made so much sense to me.

Ok so that was most of an article that I got from the magazine. I have been eating the unsweetened yogurt for a week now. I sweetened it up with some fruit, put a splenda packet in. Its not bad at all pretty good actually and I noticed that I wasn't craving as much.0 -

I have the worst craving for scones in the morning... and I work with them so its hard!
For all the muffin fans:
The calorie count on all Costco muffins is about 660.... for one muffin! I have not ate one since I saw that muffins are HORRIBLE!0
