Just out of curiosity, I still have a good 40lbs to lose and have lost 17lb on here to far and 14lbs before that. Has any one who has lost so much and/or more, had any body issues after losing the weight? Like for instance, lose skin or breasts not looking so good?

Do you just diet ? or do you exercise and possibly even incorporate weight training into your routines to keep things tight for after you weight loss?

I'm trying to work out what would be the best to do (i.e cardio and weights).. I'm worried about things not being in the right place after losing so much weight.
I also heard that Zinc is great for helping skins elasticity, has anyone tried this?

At least 3x a week doing strength and the rest cardio, if your strength workouts are relatively short, do a short cardio like a 15 minute walk or something along those lines. I've heard that it helps break up the build up that forms in your muscles from lifting and helps to rid of soreness :)

--Last year I lost like 45 pounds.. (and gained it back just as quick).. but I went from 179 ish to 150 in a matter of 3-4 months. I didn't start lifting until 2 months in, and I am so glad I did. I broke through the 150's and got down to my lowest weight, i think ever.. of 136!
  • I did cardio and did a lot of calorie counting diet and lost 25 kgs ... well, my upper arm is not in shape after all the weight loss... yes, it is saggging..... :(((( anyones got any idea what to do to get it in shape?????????
  • It all matters really.

Up to 80% of fat loss depends on the food choices. The rest is the training.

The best recommendation I can make is to find an exercise routine that you really bond with. Don't get into something that you dred otherwise even if you get the mindset to endure what you are doing...in the back of one's mind is, I can't wait till it's over.

Also, bonding with the food plan (not diet), that you enjoy but doesn't sabatoge your goals.

I used to weight almost 170 pounds and my whole life has turned around.

So in a nut shell, eat healthy - enjoy what you eat, enjoy moving your body and your life will change.

So pretty much eat clean foods, and add a mix of cardio and weights to keep things toned. I just dread having a body where things won't be in the "right place" after dieting.

I have also gained quite quickly after a previous weightloss, and I know that can't be good for you to go up and down like that. I think it's somewhere on a body building site that I heard about the Zinc. Im gonna have to try it, and lots and lots of water, I want things to be firm not flabby.. :ohwell:

Well, you need to exercise, regardless, for overall health reasons, and if you are younger, the skin will likely shrink back with you, as I understand it. Now, if you are *70* and trying to lose a large amount of weight, the answer might be a little bit different, but I think that with a healthy overall lifestyle change, INCLUDING exercise (cardio and strength), you should be good to go.

Okay--here's what my research has told me....

If you lose weight fast, skin has no time to shrink so it just hangs. If you are losing weight slowly, skin has time to bounce back as long as it stays hydrated. I changed bath products to something with more moisturizer.

As you get older, gravity does take it's toll on the body. It would even if weight loss wasn't a factor. My doctor (a wise young man with a fetish for Marvel Comics) told me to invest in myself by trying to stop purchasing undergarments at Walmart and Target. Find a "good bra" place where they measure you to ensure a very proper fit.

So for me...I've dropped 50 so far and have more than that to go. I've noticed that generic bra straps are too long for my body to place these frontal object in the "right place." I've decided that my October goal is to go drop some cash on proper supporting equipment so that I don't feel as self conscious about myself.

Don't over do the exercise, eat healthy, and have a great time doing it. People noticed me yesterday--favorite suit BAGGY!!!!

You might try this, though -- go to the web site for the Dukan Diet and enter in your information. You might see what it recommends for you. It recommended that I keep a slightly higher weight than I was aiming for because of potential "skin health" question. It gave a good analysis and explained why. I'm middle-aged, though. It might be worth it to just see what the site has to say.

Thanks guys, so we're all on the same page with the excercise now, and eating good foods that we enjoy!
Up to now I haven't avoided the gym, I just dont have a memembership, and after losing weight I do feel I need to tone. So next pay day that's where Im heading. So far it's just been walking for me and a few games here and there on the xbox kinect, which is good but doesnt feel the same as being at a gym
