When I first made my decision to be healthy, I looked at BMI and what was considered "healthy weight'. I told myself, "There is no way I could be that thin, I would be skin and bones." "I'm big boned/have a large frame and it's just not gonna happen." My parents were tall and large. I thought it was genetics.
MFP has really changed my view on this. All of the success stories of people larger than me, getting down WAY below what I thought was healthy or even achievable. I now know I was setting myself up for failure before I even failed. Thanks to everyone on here that is positive and supportive.
If you are Tall (I'm 6'4") and Heavy (I started at 380lbs), diabetic, or currently doing C25K and would to offer and get encouragement and help, then send me a friend request with a small note about you, your goals and how we can help each other!

I am so happy to hear that MFP has changed your views on getting healthy. I know that it is and will be a battle but it feels great knowing and seeing it can be done,
I have always thought of myself as big boned but I recently learned that is just a myth. I also although down 20 plus lbs feel I dont look like I lost much but man does it feel good when people tell me I look great or ask what I have done. I think you are doing amazing things. Keep up the great work. After I get the clear from the doctor to run again I am going to give the C25k a go. Until then I will just keep on walking longer and longer each time.0
