I am not that new to MFP as I have now been using the phone version for 40 days but it is my first time on the forums. I am a nearly 36 year old Mum of two who wants to lose about 20lbs. I have lost about 28lbs over the previous 4 years and kept it off but decided I needed to give myself a bit of a push to lose the next 20lb before we go on holiday to Florida next year. So far in the last 40 days I have joined the gym to burn some extra calories and am enjoying the way MFP works - if I burn the calories I can eat a little more but if I don't and veg infront of the tv I can't eat anything but my 1200 calories - and I find this fantastic motivation to get active. So far 40 days in I have lost 7.5lbs so only 12.5lb to go and I am feeling great and the Mums at the school gate have started noticing that I am losing weight.

Fantastic! Feel free to add me if you are looking for some support. We seem to be in similar positions with similar goals. I'm a mom who kind of let things go for awhile but decided this year I was getting it right. Only 10 more pounds to go! I agree with you - knowing that I can eat more is greta motivation for keeping my behind in spin class and on my elliptical machine! I can exercise a lot and eat more, but I can't sit still and only eat 1200 calories! Best of luck!0
