First of all this is my story http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/350547-my-story-at-a-second-chance-at-life-photos
Im am very proud of the thing I have accomplished. I am trying to shed the last pounds. I have been doing the 30 shred video and love the results. I try and jog also, but some days I can't. Me knees are not the best, but that isn't going to stop me. I have thought of doing some more of the Biggest loser videos so I can do at home. I live out in the country and driving into the gym every day is something i can't do . Any advice and help is greatly appreciated.

  • I know what it's like to live way out in the middle of no where and driving to the gym seems impossible (we don't even have one in our town!) so one of the things I love to do is dance. I have a 3 year old and I just put on my MP3 player and we dance around the house, it's a great way to spend time with my daughter and loose weight at the same time, and I can't believe she dances circles around me every time.

    Do you have a bike?

I have a stand that I can put my bike on that turns it into a stationary bike. If I can't do anything else, I can set that up in front of the TV and pedal away while I catch up on my DVR list.

I am taking a cardio fitness class at school for the credits. Every Tue and Thurs we do things that just use our body and our muscles. We dont use any kind of equipment. People of different weight ranges, both males and females do the work outs. They are something anyone can do and i have certainly noticed good results.

We do things like running a short distance back and forth, walking/running laps, jogging up stairs and doing different workouts on the stairs, mountain climbers, burpees, high knees, jumping jacks, push ups, sit ups. Mix up your pace. We do a minute of like say mountain climbers, break for 20-30 seconds and then do like push ups. It is better to mix things up so one you dont get bored and also to shoot your heart rate up, let it rest and then shoot it up again. HIIT training really improves your body.

    This might help:

do sprint intervals...either with your legs or on a bike.

on your legs... sprint 10-20 seconds...walk back...repeat. do 6-12 intervals. go all out on each sprint.

another variation is sprint 10-20 seconds, do a bodyweight exercise....repeat for 6-12 intervals with different bodyweight exercises. rest between each interval to get your heartrate down so that you can go all out next interval.

or, jog 45-60 second, sprint 10-20 seconds, repeat as many intervals as you can do up to 20.

    or, do a shuttle sprint (a/k/a) followed by a 3 or 4 exercise circuit...rest...repeat 3-4 times.
