It's always easier to be brutally honest online soo.....

Ex ANA, left my body alone for a few years out of pure depression, couldnt stop eating. Actually became obbsessed with being healthy in the last year. Now I'm trying not to fall back in to my ana past but still lose weight (the right way). Trying to stay clean on top of all that. For my fiance. It's still hard....

Any thoughts or tips?

I don't really have any tips...other than I'm exactly the same. Hugs, and congratulations on taking steps towards becoming healthy. I try to be healthy for my hubby's sake, too :)

this site really worked for me. I didn't have too far to go, but I couldn't seem to get there no matter what I tried. This works. I try to be healty and eat the right (healthy) things but I like that I have the flexibility to eat what I want - as long as I make myself be accountable for it. (I stopped logging in and +7 pounds later in a very short amount of time, I'm back.) So like anything...you have to work at it. Even people really good at things have to still keep practicing it so they don't lose their skill. And I'm not going to be able to do it all - ideally I'd love to have a personal chef cook all my meals with the right balance of carbs and protiens using all organic / cage free / hormone free ingredients, but since I don't have that kind of money at my disposal, I'll stick to what I can afford for now. Drinking lots of water, eating fruits and veggies, trying to add more fish and lately I have been treating myself to organic as far as the top 12 offenders for fruits/ veggies. Keep up with exercise and don't get too discouraged. We all have bad days. Hell I woke up and had a cookie for breakfast, but then I don't let that be the thing that drags down the rest of the day. Buy healthy snacks...if you can't control yourself (me with Doritos and ice cream) do yourself a favor and don't even bring it home from the store. So I'll get portion controlled snacks (popchips are awesome) and just have the 1 bag or 1 serving and thats it. You basically have 2 choices (and I quote one of my favorite movies here, The Shawshank Redemption) "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'" You got this - keep it up, stay accountable and you will do it!
  • Thanks =) the hardest step is always the first I suppose
  • Lol I wish I had a personal chef too ... especially being vegetarian & as organic as possible and having hardly any income is not an easy task. I'm a huge carb person so that's my sore spot, but whole wheat certainly seems to help that and rices =)

I'll def try to remember to not get discouraged from exercise XDD depression makes it that much harder grr

    Well here's to day one.
