I was wondering if anyone out there has found shoes for a pronation in the foot that look attractive..I have a doctor's order to buy them but the ones he sells are for people much older than I am and ugly. I am currently injured so going to a running store is not an option until I heal..thanks for any answers! My idea is that if I find some different options to ask the doctor or people in the shoe store place attached to his office :)

My chiropractor suggested i get custom orthotics that I can put in any shoe. Luckily my insurance pays for 2 pairs, so I got one pair for my dress shoes and one pair that stays in my runners. I can actually feel them working muscles in my feet that have gotten weak from under use. I used to pronate a bit, but after having a baby, it got really bad and it was really affecting my hips. So I figured it would benefit me to get the orthotics. Unfortunately they won't work with flip flops :( but I did find a pair of those with some supports built in. There are a lot of options out there. Not just running shoes either. You might also want to check into shoes that a lot of healthcare workers use, like Dansko's. I love mine!

Good luck - you're welcome for the website info.

I have a pair of orthotics from my podiatrist too - best $400 ever spent - usually wear with flats / sneakers.

I also wear clarks - not from qvc or any other store - straight from the local clarks store. I don't need my orthotics when I wear the shoes from there...:flowerforyou:
