Question about logging a strength training activity

HI!

I just did 4 sets of 20 with 3 lb weights where I lift my arm from elbow out to the sides and where I lift the weight as high as I can up above my head. I found in the app where they have "Bent arm lateral" would this be correct for the first one? I have no idea what the second exercise would be called. When I entered in all the data it does not give me any burned calorie information. This is the first time I have entered anything other than walking. I am sure this burns calories so why is there just a "-" sign showing? Also, if that is the incorrect name for the exercises please if you can let me know the correct names. If I have to find out how many calories it burned myself where do I look? Thanks for any help you can give! :)

I was wondering about this too. I know my strength training activity didn't burn much but I figured out i burned 183 calories. I have no idea how to log it though.

Look on cardio, for strength training and input your time, that's what I usually do. Hope that helps. =)

the strength training entries are really for your own notes; no calories are assigned bc it varies so much. You could choose "strength training" under cardio and use that as a loose estimate.

While strength training doesn't burn that many calories while you do it, it does increase your muscle mass, which in turn will speed up your metabolism overall, and increase your BMR and decrease your body size.

    good work!

    blessings.

Maybe it's just that I'm lazy and don't care to count the calories I burn that closely, but I only worry about logging the cardio in. So I usually have a good hour or two or exercising per day that is never logged on here. It's personal preference I guess.
