Good Morning Fitness Buddies!
We're almost half-way through our 1 month challenge! How's everyone doing with journaling and fitness goals? Has being really diligent with these two things resulted in any big changes for you?
Yesterday, I was completely wiped out from lack of sleep, a huge commute to my internship and general my-life-is-a-crazy-rollercoaster-ride-ness. I broke, and had a grass-fed beef burger with cheese from Brgr and a small green and black's chocolate bar. Ultimately, not as many calories as I thought they'd be, but went over my allotted calories for the day, even after factoring in a ton of walking. It was totally worth it though - I've been eating variations of the same things for the last week, and I'm a firm believer that if you deny yourself something when you're really craving it, you'll be in big trouble and be more likely to go blotto when you do finally break.
Anywho. So going to try to fit in my 6th day of Jillian's Shred tonight between work and performance. I'm not doing it on days I have other exercise planned (yoga, squash) and yesterday I took a break. All said though, I don't think I've exercised so frequently since college!
Now to try to stay awake during class....
Have a happy and healthy day everyone!

Hi Lara and all,
Yup logging food and exercise going great!
Went over my allocated calories (1,200) yesterday (well, about 1,350 including exercise) by having some of my mom's amazing banoffi pie and you know what? It was so worth it. I too believe that by denying yourself, you're ultimately setting yourself up for a fall. Everything in moderation - I'm still eating pretty much the same diet (bar a few minor adjustments) as I was, because it was healthy and yummy, but I'm just trying to eat less of it! Plus the minor changes I have made, seem to make for MAJOR changes in the calorie department!
No exercise for me today, just not feeling up to it. Feeling a bit lazy, probably because I overslept this morning (got up at 10am). Totally unmotivated today, but I can't beat myself up about it because, let's face it, it's a challenge and nobody's perfect!0 -
Hey!!!
Logging/fitness goals are going well for me as well as keeping my sugar/sodium intake down!! Some days are better than others but I really think I just need some better meal ideas and a lot more lean protein so I can add calories and not the carbs/sugar/sodium! I'm really loving this life change, our 30 day challenge (which is flying by) and using MFP has become a healthy addiction!!
I've decided not to do my first weigh-in until my 1 month mark since I've been known to go a little 'scale crazy' once I start! (ex: Obsessing and weighing every day, letting the #'s control my mood and motivation... not fun!) I really love the difference I'm 'Feeling' emotionally as well as with my clothes fitting better and it's only been 15 days!! So far, so good!
Today I started the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and I found it challenging but I look forward to getting stronger as I continue and I'll attempt to do it every day... if I can move.. haha!
Wishing you all a happy Thursday!!0
