Has anybody here used Phentermine to lose weight? I was on it for 4 months and it helped me to lose 33 lbs. Now that I am off it I have gained back 9. My diet and exercise plan have remained the same. Anybody else had this problem?

Its pretty common for that drug. The faster you lose, the faster it comes back and then some. Just like any crash diet.0

I did take it about a year and a half ago, I lost 30 pounds, and then broke my foot so I couldnt walk anymore for a while, during that span I gained all of it back and then some. It can be dangerous too, so be sure you are under a doctor's care. Good luck0

Yep. I lost weight on it a few years ago. Gained it right back. I will never take a diet pill again!0

My husband and I both tried it. We both gained our weight back and then some too. I thought that wouldn't happen since we went to the doctor and had prescriptions. But in the end it didn't teach us to make better choices, it tricked us into thinking we were full way too soon so we simply were starving ourselves but what little we were eating were not good choices so after we stopped taking it the portion sizes increased and increased as we had only learned to stop when we felt full (which is good IF you are eating the right stuff).
Funny thing is once we learned how to eat correctly, control portion sizes, drink water, and exercise... the weight is coming off faster than it did on the diet pill
Whatever you decide.. best of luck.. and if you take it... start cleaning up your diet while it helps you learn how much it really takes to be full... so that when you go off of it you will be able to keep some weight off0 -
I took it two years ago and in 6months time I lost 50+lbs I got pregnant and stopped taking it about 2 months before the pregnancy and gained no weight back but I increased my excersize by one more workout a week. I gained 25lbs during my pregnancy and lost it all within months of giving birth. I started taking it again about 1 1/2 months ago and Ive lost almost 20lbs now. I think thats its a great drug and I will keep taking it until all of my weight is gone. I excersize 4 days a week for at least an hour each day I eat no more than 1700 cal a day and I give myself a day off each week where I eat what I want without counting calories and personally I think that doing this helps a ton while taking the med or while taking the break from it.0

I did. But I did NOT gain anything back. Sure, my weight loss slowed down, but I was super vigilant. Going off these pills doesn't automatically make you gain. Take a hard look at what you're eating and drinking overall. It's an appetite suppressant. Once you stop taking it, your appetite returns. If you're gaining, you're doing SOMEthing.
I took it for about 6 months because I cut the pills in half. I was only allowed 3 months prescription by my doctor. I used it as a tool like many other tools, but the real responsibility was all on me.0 -
Thank you all for your response. I will re-examine my current diet and exercise plan and make some changes as needed. I just don't want to go back on the pills.0
