My very first NSV

Back Story: I've always been really athletic, but never with an athlete’s body. I'm not super over weight (probably about 10 - 15lbs), but I've never really been the skinny girl either. My goal with MFP was to finally be that athletic looking type with toned arms and a small stomach.

Since starting MFP: I've been doing MFP for about 3-4ish weeks and so far have seen the sale move 4lbs in both directions. This week I weighed OVER what I started at. It is driving me crazy, :explode: I do intense workouts 4 times a week and eat healthy for the most part, including drinking more water than ever. I'm going ot admit, the weekends are still a shot in the dark for how to eat healthy, but I had assumed that by changing my life style 5 days out of the week I wouldn't have made it to my goal, but I would have at least lost something (kind of starting off slow into the super healthy lifestyle).Well, yesterday morning when I stepped on the scale I was at my heaviest weight since I started those 3-4 weeks ago. I was totally bummed. I do intense kick boxing 2 days a week and run over 5 miles 3 days a week. I mean, I'm dead after these workouts. Well, needless to say I totally binged away my sadness yesterday, did not go for my regular workout, and throwing my normal healthy dinner to the wind (I shamefully say you can go see my huge binge on my diary).

Currently: Well this morning I woke up and was like "I know the scale sucks, but you HAVE to be getting healthier, you're eating a lot better then you were and working out like crazy". And even though I told myself this I was still feeling rather dejected. BUT THEN, RIGHT WHEN I NEEDED IT MOST, my very first NSV occurred!! I was getting in my car this morning and you know how when you sit down in your car your pants kind of bunch? So you have to push back on your seat, lift up your hips, and pull them down a little bit at your knee to straighten them out? Well I did that this morning but when I put my hand on my legs (right above my knee) there was nothing but muscle! Absolutely ridiculous! If i have fat there I cant feel it. I keep grabbing my thigh and was like "holy crap, I have crazy leg muscles!" I also might have burst out laughing and clapped a little in my car before starting it. :blushing:

Anyways, I'm sure there are people out there like me who have been doing this for almost a month and haven't seen any results. I would just say that your body IS changing whether you notice it right away or not. Good Luck all on all of our weight loss goals! Just wanted to share this little NSV on mine

if your gaining muscle it does weight more than fat. If your not seeing it on the scale you should me seeing it on the tape measure.

I can relate to what you are saying....Last Monday when I weigh myself, the scale says I was gaining weight, and yet my clothes are feeling so much loser!!! I was going crazy!!!! then my MFPrs helped me out and told me that I was probably gaining muscle....I look at my arms and legs, and yes, I am....

At first I was about to give up, but why? I am doing so great, looking tone and sexier!!!!! So, lesson learned, "The scale is not everything!!!!!"

it was a bit chilly last night so i got BRAVE and thought i'd see if my robe would fit better -or IF i could even get it on since the LAST

time i'd tried, it was TIGHT in the arms and hips :grumble: :grumble:

imagine my delight when arm area WASNT tight (the wrist area was half the size allowed by the material)

and the robe NOT ONLY went over those nasty hips easily but i could put it on over my head without zipping into it!!

still got a LONG way to go but those little things made me feel SOO GOOD!! :blushing: :blushing:

   WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!
