Woo hoo!!! I'm running my first 5K on Saturday, too! I'm very excited.
Don't have any experience, but from what I've been reading some of the things are: don't work out too hard tomorrow (if at all), and don't eat too big of a breakfast on the day of the race.
Good luck to you!!0 -
Most runners new to racing will start too fast. Don't concetrate on beating your best time, etc. Start out slow, deliberately pace yourself and concentrate on finishing. The time to run a little faster is towards the end if you still have energy.
Definately back off on training a day or two before the race, and while a large breakfast can slow you down, make sure you get adequate calories in your system to get you through it. I burn about 580 calories in 5k so a normal 300-400 calorie breakfast could leave you out of steam.0
