Isn't there a way I can change my percentage of these foods for my daily goals?

I know I have done it before somewhere, but cannot figure it out!

I would like to reduce my daily card allowance and increase protein, etc.

In addition, I would like any advice from the ladies with PCOS -- I hear that 40% carbs is a good start to see if that helps with the initial loss and if you see no change to reduce from there. What else do you do to lose?

I have cut out processed and refined sugars, no sodas, more fruits and veggies, all whole grain breads and crackers when I do eat them...what else is there that would be a key to my loss with PCOS?

I drink only water and TONS of it already.

I also take Metformin XR 1500 mg nightly -- would it help for me to take it three times a day instead of just all at night?

Oh and of course a multivitamin in the form of a prenatal; trying to condition my body for TTC after miscarriage. I really want to be at a healthy weight to be a 'skinny pregnant' for the first time in my life!

Yes, go to goals and click on "Custom" I have my Carbs set at 35% which is 120ish
  • you need to go to your goals page and then pick to manually adjust the numbers. I have PCOS and i have my carbs set at 40% and it seems to be working well for me as i am losing weight for the first time in many years. It's a wonderful feeling since i was told by my dr that i wouldn't lose anything until they had my hormone levels under control (which they still don't).

I am doing 40/30/30...which is also called the Zone diet. I work with a nutritionist. It has worked so far...very close to GW

    Thank you all!

I have struggled with PCOS for 8 years now, I was 255 lbs and ended up losing 85 lbs around 5 years ago and even kept it off for 2 years. Upon getting pregnant with my daughter (what a miracle in itself!) I carried to term and gained 40 lbs with her. Then after birth lost 15 to 20 and ballooned up to 286 from there. My PCOS has been out of hand for almost 2 years now.

I lost 33 lbs with MFP previously and cannot seem to find the same dedication I had before. I haven't gained any back so now here I rest at 255 lbs once again. I know I can do it, I've done it before. It is just so discouraging at times because the weight overwhelms my motivation.

I think I will contact a Nutritionist and see if they will assist me in meeting my goal. I am struggling to do it all on my own.
