Fast Food Makes Me Sick

Over the past month in a half I have been changed the way I eat. In doing this I have nearly eliminated fried foods and fast foods. This being said my boyfriend got me a Mcdonalds griiled chicken sandwich/med fries/med coke. About 10-15 minutes after I ate it (I only had little bit over half the fries) I felt like I had to vomit. However I have been to Applebees (had a long island iced tea/grilled chicken topped with very light cheese and veggies/1 cup of water) and even a Qudoba I have the chicken gumbo (no beans they're nasty) and a steak taco with veggies with no problem  (granted they were a couple weeks apart). Is it that stomach couldn't handle the food or a a fluke of nature?

Odds are that your stomach can't handle that grease anymore! Consider it a great thing....sure does make it easier to resist.

Right before I started really cracking down on my eating/working out this summer, I got terribly sick from a Blizzard at DQ (will spare you the details). Since then, I've had NO desire for that place whatsoever...and can't even imagine what it would do to me now, after eating so good the last 8 weeks or so.

Well, it depends...if you are doing mostly fruits, veggies, and cooking your own foods, then your body is no longer used to nasty processed foods. I eliminated hydrogenated oils and all variations and different names they call it now from my food and whenever I eat anything with it, I get nauseated. So, that is a good thing. You couldn't pay me to eat McD's anymore.

That is what happened to me when I gave up all meat for a year and then started eating it again. Beef was the only thing that made me sick. So, I haven't eaten beef again since...that was years ago.

Must admit I still love the (very) occasional Bacon & Egg McMuffin...don't think I could do a big Mac any more though!

    I betcha it's about 90% psychosomatic. But I'm a cynic.

If you're going to have physical problems from "not being used to the grease" they would be related to a lack of bile and would show up. . . on the way out, so to speak.
  • I think it was the fries. I can''t do "fried" french fries anymore...
