water question

So, I've been trying to consume the 8 cups of daily water and I'm struggling. The issue is that typically I drink 2-4 cups of green tea, and also a cup of milk. So when I add all that liquid to the water intake, I have to pee all the time!!! Do you think I can count the cups of tea as an actual cup of water?

I do, even the caffeinated ones (though some say you shouldn't; as they're diuretic)
  • Yes since tea usually doesn't have any calories unless you add sugar to it.
  • Yeah. Tea counts.

I count all non caffine beverages as part of my water intake.

I count half of my caffine beverages as part of my water intake.

Your body will adjust & you will not have to pee as often after a little while.

No, tea is a diuretic so it does not count as water

as a man said yesterday on here see http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/354663-dispelling-the-water-myths all drinks count towards water (decaff or not). You don't suddenly add a tea bag to water and it becomes something else it is just water with tea in it. Read the link its really useful.

  • Go by how you feel, but I do know that diet drinks dehydrate you, so I would not count them or any soda towards your water intake. I do not feel good unless I get my required water intake, which is probably higher than you think it is, regardless of how many other types of beverages I consume.

Caffeine is a slight diuretic, but it's nothing serious. The amount of water contained in tea almost totally counteracts the diuretic properties of it. Basically any liquid you consume, be it tea, coffee, alcohol, coca-cola counts towards your daily water intake. The diuretic properties of them is minimal compared to the water content.
