Turning it around

I am in my mid-20s and have been overweight my entire life. As with so many other people I have struggled up and down the weight scale seeing successes and disappointments alike - even after a good 60 pound loss post-college. In the past year I have managed to put on 30 pounds taking me even further from my "healthy weight". I have used every lame excuse in the book to justify it (time constraints, stress, medical difficulties) but ultimately I have to accept that it was my neglect in diligence and commitment that allowed me to slip so far out of control.
I have a husband who also struggles with weight but isn't as interested in making the changes to his routine as I am. We also have two cats who could use a little more exercise than they get and two dogs who seem to burn off their food faster than they can eat it. I will be pairing up with those two to keep me motivated to get up and move!
I am really lucky in that I have been provided a nutritionist from my employer which is catapulting me back into a healthy life style. I started using MFP 2 weeks ago as a way to provide a real snapshot of what I actually eat. Now I am planning on continuing the use for my own personal accountability as I undertake the journey to lose 55 pounds.
I am trying to find good ways to introduce exercise back into my life and manage my food in a job where I don't always have control over what I eat. I would love to make friends along the way who want to find a good supportive relationship. I am excited to go on this journey with all of you and look forward to our healthier futures once and for all!
