30 Day Shred

I'm thinking about starting the 30 day shred, but I have a few things I'm unsure of. I'm currently 15 pounds away from my goal weight. I'm not totally sure I will be comfortable at that weight so I'm considering adjusting it by maybe 10-15 pounds. I know that the number on the scale isn't everything, but it really does help to see it go down. It's a huge motivation factor for me.

My question is - I've read a lot of things about the shred and I see that you lose a lot more inches and may not see the number on the scale go down a whole lot. Obviously losing inches is a wonderful thing and I definitely want to achieve that. I'm wondering though, should I wait to start the 30 day shred after I lose about 10 more pounds and start it when I get closer to my goal weight? I'm currently working out 5-6x a week now, so hoping I can lose that 10 pounds in a relatively short amount of time.

Thanks for reading =)

What are you doing now for exercise?
I love the shred, I lost about 20 lbs doing it, but that was at the start of my journey rather than at the end of my weightloss journey. I do think it's a great video for toning up and gettng stronger.

I'm doing an hour of cardio every day. Every other day I add a strength training workout for arms and legs. I started at 198 and I'm down to 153, so since I'm a little closer to goal I'm afraid I won't see any pounds lost. I've heard great things about the workout though!

It's a great workout. You might not see pounds lost, but you would inches. I would recommend some before/after photos and measurements at the end of each level. You will love the results even if you don't lose a lot of weight!

I am doing both cardio and 30DS right now. That way I can continue loosing weight but also work on toning. I started toning because I stopped loosing weight. It is how I am shaking it up a little to keep my body of center to continue to my GW.
  • It's really different for everyone. I've seen people lose only two or three pounds but lose a lot of inches. I've seen other people lose a lot of weight and inches. I've seen people lose weight but very little inches. I would recommend just going through it. It's only about thirty minutes a day and if you feel like you're not experiencing the results you want, then you can stop. But I would recommend going through it. It also goes down to what you're eating. Maintain your calorie intake everyday, and you should be on your way to a shrinking number.

I like the idea of continuing doing cardio and then doing the shred also. I just still want to see the pounds go down, that's important to me at this point in the game.

You're exactly right. The calorie intake is important regardless of what workout you're doing. I hope I can see some results. I just need to figure out when I'm going to start!

Give it 30 days starting Oct 1! Then you can see how you do! I love it and do in in conjunction with my Turbo Jam and cardio, it fits in great... tomorrow I start Level 2...wish me luck!

I think I'm going to start on the 1st actually. It sounds like a good idea to me. Good luck on level 2! Are you doing 10 days of each level? I know some people stick with certain levels for a few more days.
