Unusual weight loss

So I am looking for some advice, feedback, experiences and thought this might be a good place to start.
I stepped on the scale this morning and it read 141. I usually hover around 147 (yes, I weigh myself more than once a week, I know, my bad). This is the second day in a row that it was usually low...
I'm not complaining, actually kinda thrilled. But I am also a little concerned.
What is different? I started running (jogging) regularly this week but the amount of time I spend excersing is the same; and TOM ended last week. My eating habits are unchanged. Did I suddenly break through a plateau without trying?
Has anyone else experienced a change of 5+ lbs in a week? Did it stay away (please) or is it just water weight?

For the last few weeks, I've been losing 2-3 lbs per week ....on monday-wednesday. Thursday through Sunday, don't seem to vary beyond a few ounces. The human body is weird.
I too weigh myself far too often. I like seeing how my water regulation affects my weight, what can I say?0 -
I think running burns a lot more calories than other types of exercise.0

when i first started I lost 6 lbs my first week. It stayed off and after that it was a smaller amount but on average 1-2lbs per week0

It happened to me last week, I had been hovering around the same weight for 2 weeks and then bam it drops dramatically. I don't think it is what you did that week, but it is cumulative. Often weight doesn't come off in a gradual way, but plateaus then drops. However, saying that you shouldn't put too much store in day-to-day weight, but look at the graph to see make sure you are doing the right thing over a month.

Based on the information given, You just started running/jogging this week. But you are working out the same amount of time as you did before. Your heart rate was at a higher rate than when you were not running therefore you are burning more calories in less time.
My health teacher once told me that you burn more calories in a 45 minute workout of different obstacles than you would walking at a moderate pace for 2 hours because muscle confusion and heart rates are what make you burn more fat. The higher your heart rate the better you are to loose weight! Running must be the ticket for you!0 -
