Best ever is BSN Synth 6 in Vanilla Ice Cream. I can add frozen berries for a protein smoothie or some instant coffee & unsweetened cocoa for a protein mocha.

I prefer to buy pure, unadulterated whey protein isolate. It's about 90% protein by weight, and has no other ingredients. You can then mix it with frozen bananas, berries, cocoa powder, etc and blend it up. The flavored ones all run the risk of having a bad flavor, and that's a big investment for a tub sometimes.

    I have tried:

    ON 100% Whey
    BSN Syntha 6
    Myofusion
    Magnum Neutraceuticals Quattro

The best tasting IMO is the Magnum Quattro protein 4 stage isolate. It's expensive as hell but it's the best tasting I've tried. A 5lb tub of it is $75.00...not cheap.

I drink EAS 100% whey protein mix (chocolate) in one cup of reduced fat milk and it tastes pretty good -- like a chocolate shake. :)

Jay Robb vanilla whey. No artificial flavors or sugars and it doesn't taste chalky.
Currently using Revolution Nutrition whey isolate. It's just not as good as Jay Robb (too chalky, leaves a funny aftertaste) but it's cheaper.

After trying a few dozen protein powders in my lifetime, I've settled on Gold Standard Whey. Not only does it taste great but it doesn't give me that bloated feeling. If I want more carbs, I just add a scoop of Optimum Nutrition Glyco Maize to it.

Hey OP..atleast you didn't put down that Amp crap that GNC tries to sell me everytime I walk in their store to buy some flaxseed oil.

It's insane. It's a new employee each time, and before he says anything I'm like "Not interested in your Amp line of products..thanks bro". I mean it comes across as rude, but damn...

I use AMP and love it for recovery protein :p But it does not taste good.

My everyday whey is 100% Whey from Costco simply for the price tag alone. 6lbs./$30

I was told to use 100% Whey Isolate from GNC (Pro Complex), but that stuff is $$$. Although it is better to have the Isolate than the concentrate I guess.

GNC is so overpriced it's insane. Online or places like Costco is much cheaper lol.

BSN Syntha-6 is ridiculously delicious. I thought their Vanilla Ice Cream flavor was good, but their Cookies & Cream is super good. Good just in water, but also really good in a little fat free milk...which adds a little more protein. Planning to try Strawberry next, which I hear is really good too. I prefer Syntha-6 not just for taste, but also because it is a sustained release protein powder. Instead of only whey protein, which is absorbed fairly quickly, Syntha-6 contains a blend of 6 different proteins--some digest fast (like whey which is good directly after a workout), and some slow--helping sustain amino acid levels longer.

Funny, just got the chocolate flavored one from Costco about a week ago.
