    Honestly

the type of people who would do such things, probably do it without even thinking of it. And probably don't need to be reminded.

I love a good collection of facepalms!

All my bloody day is doing things for someone else. Doesn't really make me feel good any more tbh.
  • I did something out of the norm tonight. At the grocery store, I helped an elderly woman get something off the top shelf. She thanked me and told me that this was the first time she went to the store since her husband passed. I stopped my shopping and offered to help her. She was so thankful she offered to make me dinner and said it would be nice to have someone converse with over dinner. Well I couldn't let her make me dinner. So I took her out for some good seafood.

This was the first time I've ever done something like this and it felt pretty good. Hopefully she had a good time. She deserved it.

When ever I go grocery shopping, I will always offer to help a senior get their grocery bags in their car, their wheelchair in the trunk... I cant walk by them and NOT offer?! We just had a new Market Basket open up just outside of where I live, and I see this elder woman having trouble moving her 24pk bottled water around.. so I went over and asked her "ma'am would you like some help with that?"..

She just chuckled with such a cute laugh, and said "oh my dear, Im a stubborn old cookie - but Im doing good... Thank you so much for offering though!"... I cracked up laughing when I heard that - didnt expect it....

Glad the responses ended on a happy note, I was getting kind of ticked off that no one was taking it seriously and otherwise just mocking your attempt. I try to help out when I can. It does come natural to me to do that. Sad to say that most of the time when I need help, there aren't that many around that help me. Sometimes, but not mostly. I wish more people were like that. Good topic!
