My Story

In October 2010, I was 140lbs and sick of the way i fit into my jeans-I had lots of jiggle. I am very short so I looked pretty "stubby." My weight would yo-yo between 140-150lbs and I could never seem to keep the weight off-or change my horrible eating habits! It all started one day when a great friend of mine-a model and a vegetarian- told me to watch this documentary. It was called FOOD INC (on Netflix) and that film changed my life! I started eating organic and clean. It happened almost overnight! I was THAT disgusted. I slipped up here/there as I was learning, but then when I started doing the right things, the weight began to fall off.. It took around two months before I began seeing change, but I never gave up. My husband isnt healthy and kept the house stoked with sodas, cookies, and chips-BUT I didnt lay one finger on any of that. I was determined!
9 Months later, I had dropped 35lbs-without exercise. I am a nurse, so I walk for about 8 hours a day, so I guess that could count as "exercise" but I really didnt do anything special. My philosophy? Its 80% diet, 10% genetics, and 10% working out. You can run for 10 miles a day, and wont see any difference if you are stuffing your face with greasy, fatty, sugary, or processed foods.
I created a blog to help motivate me with my weightloss journey. Each month, I would post a photo of my progress. I would post things to inspire and uplift me. One year later, I am now 105lbs and maintaining lean muscle, and my blog has gained some worldwide attention. I never dreamed that I could reach and inspire so many people. Its truly a blessing!
My goal now is to gain some MUSCLE with CrossFit and strength training!!!
