Hearing Loss during hard workouts?

I've noticed whenever I do strenuous exercise my right ear gets kind of plugged up, like when you've been listening to music really loud. It doesn't happen when weight training, only heavy cardio sessions. I know my ear is clean...anyone else experience this? It sometimes gets so uncomfortable that I have to stop my workout for a few minutes for it to clear up. Any suggestions and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    A few possibilities:

1.During extremely intense workouts (not sure how hard you are working out), your body will go into a tunnel vision mode, because your body is loaded with adreniline. The most natural state for your body to be overloaded with adreniline is during activation of the Fight-or-Flight mechanism, and unnecessary senses are dulled. Not very likely, but that is a possibility.
    2. You may be having some inner ear trouble while working out. Possibly you may be getting to much vasoconstricion of the capilarries in the ear. Not exactly sure what could be causing that though. If you want, try this trick we did in scuba diving, Close you eyes, plug your nose, and try to force air out your nose (you wont be able to) like you were blowing your nose. This clears out a lot of blockages in the ear canal.

Actually yes, I have experienced that. However, usually its with both ears and if the I "strained" really hard I start to tunnel vision. I think it's just because of pushing too hard, our body's way of telling us to back off a bit.

So crazy to see this pop up! This happened to me for the first time Monday night...during my 2nd hour of cardio. It's not unlike me to go 2-3 hours in the gym so I hadn't done anything out of the normal. I noticed that my right ear was "stopped" up too. I was singing in the car and it sort of felt like when water gets in my ears while swimming. I had forgotten about it...thanks for reminding me to google it! :o)
