Last night I went to the movies at 7:30 (I saw "Milk" - I thought Sean Penn did a really wonderful job!)

Anyway; "movies" for me usually means popcorn, candy & soda (or "pop" depending on where you live in the country!) - things that I would never eat at home! So; early in the evening, I walked in bought my ticket and walked straight through the concession stand (which spans the entire lobby of the theatre in this place - these guys are smart!) and watched the whole movie without a snack of any kind.

The reason I did that was because I use the MFP caloroie counter pretty religiously - I'd already added my food & exercises for the day and knew I was just right - a little bit uder my target actaully, but no need to "blow the bank" at the end of the day. So I didn't.

Was it hard? A little. Do I like the smell of popcorn? You bet! Do I always eat too much in that environment? Yes!!!

So this morning I get the benefit of waking up feeling good about my weight, and what I did and getting to enjoy this beautiful chilly morning without any guilt. What Fitness Chick always says makes real sense to me today - "Nothing tastes as good as fitness feels..."

And fitness, my friends is a whole bunch of little victories. Yes, I know there are some losses and backslides too - but as long as the little victories add up over time, you - and I - will reach our fitness goals!

Happy Wednesday!

    Congratulations Mr. Happy......Awesome!

I too wanted to eat while watching TV last night but after thinking about it....i didn't and boy im I glad! Im on the biggest loser challenge here and today is WI day. I was down .8 this morning:happy: . That weight lost would not have shown if I decided to eat those salty chips and ranch dip that I wanted:happy:

And its funny, but i also thought of fitness_chick's quote.....it helped!

Here's to the sweet feeling of victory!:drinker:

That is GREAT, Mr. Happy. A victory over food, for sure!!

BTW, between your name and your beautiful profile pic, I always end up smiling when I see your posts.
  • Great job that's awesome. It's true, when I give in to weaknesses I feel awful about myself and just plain unhealthy! Movies are really hard for me too. Even when I rent a movie, I feel like I should have a "treat" to eat during. Congrats on your victory!
