If your weight is 175 and you are suppose to have 1200 calories to loose weight. Is there an in between range where you can eat more or less and still loose? So can you still loose if you go to 1400 calories? I know they don't reccomend going under the your alloted calores even though I tend to eat less. I'm more concerned about the once in a blue when I go over. So if you are alloted 1200 calorie and you go to a 1400 calorie a day plan how much can you expect to loose?

you can lose weight eating any amount under your TDEE.

1200 cals for a 175lb person is ridiculously low, you'd likely still lose weight eating at 1700cals

If we assume you are burning about 2000 calories (or more) without exercise. You could eat that and not gain. So 1750 would produce a half pound a week loss. I agree that 1200 is too low for you.

Some guesses involved, but probably pretty close. So, at 1331 Calories, you would be losing about 1lb./week, which is a good healthy rate for your size.

I started a 170lbs and I put my information in MFP said in order to lose 1lb a week I needed to eat 1200 cals. However after three weeks I was no longer losing. So I up my calories to 1350 and now have continued to lose the weight. I am 10 weeks in an 10lbs lost. I think I may have underestimated my activity level because I am a office worker at my desk all day so I put the lowest activity level so I put my activity level to light activty and it gave me the 1350 calories a day. Hppe this helps.
