Hello all. I have been using the site for less than a month now. I have found it very useful and kind of fun. I am a fairly fit person who likes to work out and attempt to be in shape. My issue is that I travel way to much for work. When I travel I am typically teaching classes and most of the participants are also away from home. So we have food catered in for breakfast and lunch then I get to entertain the class at night over dinner (rich food and drinks of all kinds). I guess I am looking for some support so I don't just belly up every time good food gets put in front of me.

My ultimate goal is to lose 10 pounds and be fit so when tri season starts next year I don't have the issues that I have fought the past couple with knees and ankles.

Any help or support is appreciated.

Kirk

You're in the right place. I travel once or twice a month (usually 4-10 days at a time). I noticed an immediate difference armed with MFP on my last trip...I made much better choices in every meal. I look back now and can only imagine how much weight I've put on solely from those trips. Not anymore!

Some advice I'm going to try next time...when at home I eat pretty regularly but on the road I found this was difficult and would go longer without eating (and thus getting hungry). However, the customer vending machines were terrible places to get a quick fix. Next time, I'm either bringing some granola bars with me or going shopping when I get to my destination to make sure I have something available to me other than junk food to bridge me to my next meal.

    Good luck!
