I Need A Big Picture Kind of Exercise Goal

One of the reasons I am on MFP is to get in shape. I am horrible at exercising, but I do love adventure. Today, I stumbled across something that I think might motivate me, simply because if I don't take any baby steps, there is no way I will ever accomplish anything like this in my lifetime.

Have you ever wanted to try a wilderness adventure? Or go on a kayaking adventure? This place is full of such things, but there is an element of danger to it. If I never get in shape, there is also no way I can even attempt something that is a safer version of this anyway.

So, for me, unless I find something that makes me realize that exercise goes beyond the DVD or the gym, I probably won't be successful at making it a habit.

And, to think of how crazy an idea it would be if I could actually carry something like this out before I die of old age!

The only other alternative is to sit around kicking myself that I majored in English instead of science, and to feel sorry for myself that I don't get to be as adventurous as Jacques Cousteau or the Storm Chasers.

Ok, that ends my rant. Anyone want to rant with me? :-)

I have a good friend who's using her weight loss and exercise as a means to climb Kilimanjaro next year! She's doing a lot of hiking. I have another friend who's training to climb Grand Teton.
