Calling all Vegetarians!

ok, so I wanna make potato leek soup this weekend but all recipes call for chicken broth. Can i sub vegetable broth instead? Or is there a "chik'n" broth substitute out there, and if so, where? Thx.

    I don't see why you couldn't. Why would you NEED chicken broth in a vegetable soup? Go for it!

    Veggie broth should work wonderfully or even mushroom broth (my personal fav) tastes great in a lot of things =)

    I have never used a chicken broth in my life, and I make a great leek and potato soup.

    In the UK, I use Swiss Marigold Bouillon. In the US, Better than Bouillon would do the trick.

    Always and yes! Veggie or Mushroom...

    If you want the chicken flavor, Better than Boullion Chicken and Better Than Boullion Beef is OUT OF THIS WORLD! :)

    The pot of soup may explode if you susbstitute veggie for chicken broth.

    I always sub veggie broth, but our Whole Foods has a "no chicken broth."

    I always sub veggie stock for meat stock. It should be fine. x
